Hello Mark,

I’m writing to ask for time off for a few days next week. My family is coming to town, but only for a few days, and I haven’t seen them for a long time, and I know they would be upset if I didn’t spend time with them. I know it’s a lot to ask, but, if possible, I would like to take off next Monday to Wednesday.

They made the decision rather hastily and decided they couldn’t resist the good price on tickets, and just informed me, so I am really sorry for the late notice.

If it is okay with you, I will ask both James and Billy to cover my shifts. I already checked the schedule, and they both seem to have time to do the shifts, and usually, they are keen to pick up extra shifts.

Again, sorry for the late notice, but hope it’s okay with you.
