一.形容词副词的三个等级

形容词和副词有三个等级，即原级（原型），比较级和最高级。

二.比较级、最高级的变化规则

规则变化

1.一般在词尾直接加er或est

tall-taller-tallest，long-longer-longest ,high-higher-highest

2.以不发音的字母e结尾的单词在词尾直接加r或st

nice-nicer-nicest wide-wider-widest

3.以辅音字母+y结尾的词，把y变为i，再加er或est

heavy-heavier-heaviest feiendly-friendlier-firendliest

4.重读闭音节，末尾只有一个辅音字母，双写这个辅音字母，再加er或est

5.部分双音节词和多音节词分别在原级前加more构成比较级和most构成最高级

三．基本用法

比较级：

表示两者（人或事物）的比较。在“比较级+than”的句型中。当than前后所使用的动词相同时，通常用助动词代替后面的动词。且该动词还可以省略。

I am more outging than my sister.

You know more about yourself than I (do).

He works harder than me.

最高级：

表示三者或者三者以上（人或事物）的比较，其中有一个在某一方面超过其他几个，后面用of/in短语等来说明比较的范围。形容词最高级前面一定要加定冠词the，副词最高级前的the可以省略。

You are the tallest boy in our class.

Who dances (the) most beautifully of the three?

特殊使用方法

1.A+be+as+形容词或副词的原级+as+B，意为“A与B一样……”，表示“两者相同或相等”。

You are as tall as me.

You finish the work as quickly as him.

2.A+be+not+so/as+形容词或副词的原级+as+B，意为“A不及B那样……”，表示两者不如或不相等。

He thinks science is not as important as math, but he is wrong.

3.A+be+倍数+as+形容词原级+as+B，表示“A是B的多少倍.

一倍once，两倍twice，三倍及以上:数字+times 倍数用基数词表达

Our school is twice as large as theirs.我们学校是他们学校的两倍大。

4.“the+比较级，the+比较级”表示 “越……，就越......”。

The more you read, the fsater you will be.

5.“比较级+and+比较级”，表示“越来越……”。

注意:多音节形容词，则用“more and more+原级”表示“越来越……”。

Our city is becoming more and more beautiful.

You are taller and taller.

6.表示两者之间较……的一个(of the two)时，常用 the+比较级结构。

He is the thinner of the two.他是两个中较瘦的那个。

比较级前的修饰词，用来表示程度。

1.由表示程度的副词a little.a bit, a few, a lot

much, even, still, far, ratherany等修饰时，用形容词或副词的比较级。

It is even colder today. 今天甚至更冷了。

最高级的特殊用法

1.“A+be+one of+the +形容词最高级+名词复数形式” 表示“A是……中最……之一”

Qomolangma is one of the highest mountains in the world.

2.“the+序数词+形容词最高级+名词” 表示“第几最…”

The Sahara is the first highest desert in the world.

3.“比较级+any other +名词” 表示比任何一个都… ,即用比较级的结构表达最高级含义。

He is taller than any other student in our class他是我们班上最高的学生

4.表示在三者或三者以上的人或物中进行选择时，用句型:Which/Who be the +最高级，A， B or C?

Who is the tallest. Tom. Kate or Bill?汤姆、凯特、比尔，谁最高?
