春节习俗如何表达?

The lunar New Year is a great occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year, during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school, and shops are closed.

People begin to prepare for it several days before the New Year. Farmers kill pigs, sheep, cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meatballs and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; Spring Festival Couplets(春联) are posted on the doors. Colorful lanterns(灯笼) are hung at the gate.

On the eve of the New Year(除夕), each family has its members gathered together and eats a family reunion dinner(团年饭). After the meal they watch TV until the clock strikes twelve. Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers(鞭炮) and other fireworks(烟火) to welcome the New Year. On the first day of the New Year, almost everyone is dressed in his or her best. When people meet on the way, they say to each other "Happy New Year”. Friends and relatives pay New Year calls(拜年) and gives presents to each other. Children indulge themselves in games.

Spring Festival(春节) is the most important festival in China. It's to celebrate the lunar calendar(阴历)’s New Year. In the evening before the Spring Festival, families get together and have a big meal. In many places people like to set off(点燃,燃放) firecrackers. Dumplings(饺子) are the most traditional food. Children like the festival very much, because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes. They can also get some money from their parents. This money is given to children for good luck. People put New Year scrolls(春联) on the wall for good fortune. The Spring Festival lasts about 15 days long .People visit relatives and friends with the words "Have all your wishes”. People enjoy the Spring Festival, during this time they can have a good rest。

Chinese Spring Festival celebrates the end of winter and the warmth of spring(迎春). It begins in the last day of the lunar year and ends in the 15th day of lunar New Year, also is the Lantern Festival(元宵节). During the Spring Festival, people use red lantern and Spring Festival couplets(春联) decorate a house, put on all kinds of colored clothes, often visit friends and relatives or together eat dumplings, fish, meat and other delicious food. The children are looking forward to receiving red envelope money(红包), and together they play each other the fireworks, with happiness. Street with dragon and lion dance(舞龙师) and some other carnival activities(狂欢活动), CCTV will hold the grand Spring Festival gala(春节联欢会).
