“央视猫叫”上热搜，网友看新闻云吸猫！“撸猫”用英语怎么说？

说到央视主持人，大家是不是和哥一样，脑海中浮现出的都是他们西装革履、正襟危坐的模样？

但是！最近央视的形象似乎变了？！

不少网友表示，已经连续好几日在看《新闻1加1》、《午夜新闻》等栏目的时候，都听到了猫叫声，央视怕不是开通了喵语同声传译功能？？

网络段子手纷纷出击，将节目名字改成《猫闻天下》、《新闻撸猫间》、《撸猫30分》，从此云吸猫又有了个好去处：CCTV13。

虽然央视至今没有回应，但有相关工作人员称在央视大院中原本就有不少流浪猫。去年突然有几只躲进了大楼里，在一号演播大厅边上的楼梯间“赖着不走”。

而今年央视新闻频道的所有新闻节目演播室，都搬到了这栋大楼中，猫上个楼梯就能进到演播厅，所以大家听到猫叫声也就不足为奇了。

“央视猫叫”引起了大家热烈的关注，毕竟“吸猫党”已经成为了这届年轻人中最神秘的组织。

常言道：家家吸猫，人人云养，一日养猫，终生想猫。

整天嘴上喊着要做“精神铲屎官”的你，对和猫有关的英语又了解多少？

今天就由拥有近10年口语教学经验，近20年美国海外留学经历的美籍华裔Jerry老师，跟大家分享一些关于小猫咪的地道英语俚语词。

撸猫

撸猫的英文表达非常简单直球：

pet my cat

cuddle my cat

堪称网络痴汉的吸猫党们get了吗？

铲屎官

对于“铲屎官”这个词，网上的翻译基本为cat poop man、poop picker、cat keeper，看上去是不是很fancy？

然而外国人听到这些词之后的反应只会是：你在说什么？俺根本听不懂哩。

老师在网上查阅很多资料，跟他的美国朋友交流后得到的结果是，英语中并没有“铲屎官”这样的短语。

最好的表达是：

cat owner

I’m a slave to my cat

大家要知道，中文很多俗话尤其是网络热词并不会有对应的英文俚语，千万不要强行翻译中文的俗话，结果只会是外国人三连黑人问号。

与猫有关的英文短语

a cat nap

基本上与 nap 的意思一致，但是更地道。

当你以后想说 nap 的时候，替换成 cat nap 会更好。

eg: - Are you sure you aren’t too tired for this movie?

- No, I took a cat nap, I’ll be fine.

the cat(s) out of the bag

意思为：秘密众所周知了 / 把秘密说出来了。

咱们可以这样理解：你要想把喵星人放到袋子里，她就会让你知道喵星拳的厉害，所以这是件很困难的事。

延伸一下，也就是保守住一个秘密是件很困难的事情。反之，让喵出来，就是大家都知道秘密了的意思。

eg: We had planned a surprise party for you, but Courtney let the cat out of the bag and told you about it.

fat cat

这个词组的意思当然不是指你家主子体重超标，而是指有钱有权有势的人，也就是咱们说的大佬。

比如某爸爸，某部长都可以描述成 fat cat，不过同时也会有轻微贬低的含义。

eg: At the football match, the best seats were reserved for several fat cats.

（there's）more than one way to skin a cat

短语的意思为：有很多种方式可以达成目标，或做成一件事有很多种方式。

夏天快到了，正所谓“四月不减肥，五月徒伤悲，六月更加肥，七月继续悲，八月待室内”，让我们一起来看看下面两位集美关于减肥的对话：

A: So, I know you don’t like running, but let’s try another form of exercise. Let’s go to the gym together. We can do some weightlifting.

B: Thanks, but I’d rather not. I appreciate that you want to help me lose weight, but there’s more than one way to skin a cat.

A: What do you mean? If you want to lose weight, you have to do some form of exercise.

B: I’m thinking of just getting liposuction.

not enough room to swing a cat

空间很小的意思，在我们中文理解的时候就理解为“小”就可以。

eg: My new car is economical, but there’s not enough room to swing a cat in there.

Tell me something about where you’re living now

My dorm was very cute and cozy, but there was no room to swing a cat.

当然你也可以反着用：

Oh yes, the hotel room is huge. It’s perfect, you could swing a cat here.

学了那么多和有关的词组，我们再来康康其他一些和动物有关的短语。

every dog has his day

最直接的含义就是每人都会有好运的时候，有时候也可以用来表达中文里“风水轮流转”的意思。

dog在这里有自嘲的意思，和中文的“社畜”，累的和“狗”一样，单身“狗”的狗意思很相近。

eg: Don`t worry about him. Every dog has his day and he will eventually suffer for all the bad things that he is doing.

a cash cow

这里不要理解是“金猪”或“招财猫”的意思，这个跟中文里的摇钱树的意思很像，但cash cow多为褒义来用。

eg: Our new business is a cash cow. We are making much money now.

eg: My new car is economical, but there’s not enough room to swing a cat in there.

And finally, Coca-cola turned into a cash cow and he made much more profit with minimum risks.

a dumb bunny

意思是某某有点傻、有点笨，但是没有冒犯或敌意的意思，是一种温柔可爱的表达。

好比妈妈对孩子说：我们家的小笨笨，类似这样的感觉。

eg: He really is a dumb bunny. He does such stupid things.

in the dog house

这里肯定不是“位于狗舍”的意思啦，相当于 in trouble，是“我就有麻烦了，我就死定了”的意思。

eg: The man is in the dog house with his wife because he came home late last night.

Describe a time when you did not tell a friend the truth

If I told her how dumb I was sitting on the hood of a moving vehicle, I would definitely be in the dog house.
