这个词一般不用于进行时。

1. 表示“感激”“赞赏”等，通常为及物动词，其后可接名（代）词、动名词、名词性从句等作宾语，但不能接不定式。如：

I'd appreciate some help.

如果有人帮忙我将非常感激。

Your support is greatly appreciated.

十分感谢你的支持。

[V -ing] I don't appreciate being treated like a second-class citizen.

我不愿被人当作二等公民。

[VN -ing] We would appreciate you letting us know of any problems.

如有任何问题，请告诉我们。

We would appreciate confirmation of your refusal of our invitation to take part.

若您确认拒绝我们的邀请不能参加，我们将感激不尽。

We'd appreciate your leaving as fast as possible.

其后不直接跟 if 或when引导的从句，若语义上需要接这类从句，需借助 it。（热门考点，常常在改错题中出现）

I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't mention it.

2. 作“感激、感谢”其后只能接“事”作宾语，而不能接appreciate +人+ for one’s help 结构；若要用类似结构，可考虑用动词thank等。比较：

正：We appreciate your help. 我们感谢你的帮助。

误：We appreciate you for your help.

正：He thanked her for her help. 他感谢她的帮助。

误：He thanked her help.

但是，直接+人作宾语是可以的：

They obviously appreciate you very much

他们显然对你十分感激。

3. 理解；意识到；领会；
