President Xi Jinping on Monday called for blazing a new path to build world-class universities with Chinese characteristics. Xi， also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission， made the remarks during a visit to Renmin University of China in Beijing. The visit came ahead of China's Youth Day， which falls on May 4 every year.
