love是「爱」,child是「孩子」, lovechild是什么意思?

最近在一套题里遇到了这个词:

love是“爱”,child是“孩子”, lovechild是什么意思?
很多同学可能会将其理解成“爱的结晶”。
但child基本义“儿童;小孩”,本来就有“爱的结晶”的意思,此处前面特意再加上“love”,是不是多此一举?
